Perspectives on OCD, BDD, BFRBs, and Anxiety, From a Specialist Who Actually Treats Them
Writing from clinical practice, not from a content calendar. Notes on what I see, what I've learned, and where I think the conversation about these conditions needs to be more honest.
Most of what gets written about OCD, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, BFRBs, and anxiety comes from generalist mental health writers or wellness culture. That's not what this blog is. I'm a licensed clinical social worker who has specialized in these conditions for over a decade, and I have my own lived recovery from BDD. What you'll find here is my thinking on what these conditions actually are, how they interact with the culture around them, and what treatment that actually works looks like in practice.
