Therapy for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) and OCD is to feel better equipped to handle thoughts, reduce anxiety, and stop the compulsive behaviors that interfere with daily life. Common goals include spending less time on obsessions, decreasing rituals like checking or reassurance seeking, improving body image, and learning to tolerate uncertainty without engaging in compulsions. Clients often want to reduce avoidance, build confidence, and reclaim parts of their lives that these disorders have taken over. Overall, therapy helps them develop healthier coping skills, feel less overwhelmed, and experience a more balanced life.
I’ve personally dealt with BDD and anxiety, so I understand how overwhelming and isolating these struggles can feel. That experience shapes the way I work. I combine evidence-based treatments with tools that helped me in my own healing, and I tailor everything to what feels right and useful for you.
BDD, OCD, and anxiety can take over your life—but with the right support, things can change. Through approaches like CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention, ACT, mindfulness, and DBT-informed skills, you can learn to step back from compulsions, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and start feeling more in control of your life again.

As someone who has lived experience with both Body Dysmorphic Disorder and Anxiety, I have a unique perspective and approach working with my clients. I combine research-based treatment and my own successful treatment strategies and tailor them to each individual client. I work from a holistic lens, looking at the entire person and provide individualized treatment that is unique to each individual, as these disorders may be complex and require deeper work in addition to evidence based treatment. BDD, OCD, BFRBs and Anxiety Disorders can be life-changing and painful. However, with the right modality, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills, Habit Reversal Training and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, you can learn to not engage in compulsions, challenge the way you think and feel, and most importantly, come to experience a healthier and better quality of life, value based living. I am professionally trained in CBT/ERP, ACT, DBT, Habit Reversal Training and Trauma Informed Therapy practices. I am a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP).
